Tuesday 06012010
Our
plans: At 9:30, we are going to take a trip to Oxford Circus
by tube and then we are going to split up for a shopping excursion
at Oxford
Street or Carnaby Street or Dover
Street Market or the
Burlington Arcade or Savile
Row or Carnaby
Street or Regent
Street or Piccadilly. At midday, we are going to have lunch
at one of the West End cheap restaurants named The
Stockpot. After that, we are going to take the tube to St.
Paul's Cathedral and visit it. In the evening, we are going
to go to the theatre
or to a Rock show or we are going to visit a pub
near Leicester Square or we are going to go into a West End
Disco to have a fancy disco night for instance in the Mahiki
at Dover Street or Madame
Jojo's at Brewer Street or the Rumba
at Shaftesbury Avenue.
Our report: On Tuesday, 07012010, after
we had had breakfast in our cute Italian café, nearby our
hostel, we
first went to Knightsbridge with Mr. Seidensticker to visit the
famous Harrods department store. Harrods
was worth a visit. It was overwhelming with a museum-flair and very
beautiful interiors and luxurious goods. Afterwards
we went to Oxford Circus by tube. We planned to go shopping all
day long in the famous stores like Selfridges or Abercrombie &
Fitch. But the bad weather conditions disturbed our city tour a
little bit. We also did not manage to visit St. Paul's cathedral
as planned, so Mr. Seidensticker did that visit alone and even climbed
the dome and took a walk down the hill to the Globe Theatre and
had a nice coffee there. Nevertheless all of us found some nice
and cheap shoes and dresses and souvenirs. After we had got totally
wet, we went back to our hostel to dry our clothes and to do a little
siesta. Later we visited a real English pub where we recalled the
last days and celebrated the final evening in London. After a short
look into a discotheque we went back to our hostel and had more
fun there.
