My father’s side of the family is from the Netherlands. They came here came to America 50 years ago in hopes of a better life. They wanted more opportunities. They traveled nine days by ship, three days by train. They have lived a very successful life and had four children and still live in the house that they originally bought when they moved here. My grandparents chose to move to California over other US states because they heard how beautiful California was. I like living in Southern California. I was born and raised in Orange County, California and it is a really nice place to live, but way too expensive. I would love to live in Orange County for the rest of my life, but it is not affordable. I have never been a victim or racial discrimination, but I have seen friends of mine go through it.

The LA Dream picture shows a lot of images that relate to America. The diversity of cultures in the pictures is what America consists of. The picture of Joseph and Mary on the donkey represents Christianity and that is a widespread religion in the United States. The American flag represents our independence. The rest of the images show how different people migrated to this area for independence.
