Prompts for German Students

1. I am not Hispanic so I cannot even begin to tell their story of why they want to come to America because I am not the person to tell you but the best guess I could give you on why they along with others travel to America is because it is full of opportunities that other places in the world do not offer people. It’s a new life with new jobs, new life styles, lots of different cultures, opinions, thoughts and ideas that anyone is able to express freely.

2. One of the main reasons I love living in southern California besides the weather, is because we are so diverse. There are so many cultures to experience just by leaving my front door. Racial discrimination does not really affect me or my friends and I have really never had a problem with it, most people are pretty nice and welcoming, but yes there are those that have a problem with different people of different races and I could imagine it is very hard to deal with because some people are just plain mean but for the most part people are pretty nice and love people of every culture and love to learn, experience, and be around people of different diversities.

That picture is somewhat true and somewhat false. Yes, we offer things that many countries do not offer such as: freedom of religion and new business opportunities and obviously much more, but the one thing about this picture that throws me off is the fact that the gates are wide open to people coming in from Mexico when today the U.S. is very strict about who is coming into this country and who is going out. I mean yes, for some parts of America the grass is greener on the other side and for other parts or other people, it isn’t.
