Hi Santa Ana and everybody else on the globe!
Meike, Axel, Nadja, Udo, Petra, Ilka
Our English teacher has had the idea to send you a message per Internet. We shall first introduce ourselves in order to make us known a bit:

My name is Nadja Hanning. I'm 22 years old and my job is called: biological-technical assistant. It's a work in a lab. I know that this job is unknown in America. I have been going to school in the evening for two years now to pass my university entrance examination. Sometimes it is hard to come here in the evening(like now) to learn for 3 or 4 hours, but mostly it is funny. They teach us in German, Maths, English, French(only in the first year), History, Biology and Sociology I have been living in a small town called Detmold for two and a half years and I really like it. Sincerely Nadja

Hello! My name is Meike Adolph and I am a 28-year-old woman. I live in a little town called Lemgo in Germany. I work at a university as a chemical assistant. At this university you can study food-technology and there you can specialize as a cosmetic engineer. There, I analyze all kinds of cosmetic products, make research and prepare the chemical analysis for the students. The job is very interesting and I know a lot of students. At last I live together with six students in a big apartment. We have a lot of fun by playing cards, going into the cinema, riding on motorcycles, having parties etc. For 2 1/2 years I have gone to school every evening, to reach my school leaving- examination in order to be allowed to study like them. The rest of my free time I meet my friends, travel, go swimming, play darts and badminton.

Hello, my name is Axel Hunke. I am a male German. I am 25 years old. I have an education as a postman from 1990-93. After this, I made an education as a painter from 1993-95. I worked in this job from 1995-97. I have been at the evening school since 1996. I hope that I get my school-leaving examination this year in December. I am not married, but I live with my girlfriend in a small village near Bielefeld. I have had English for 12 years, but it is as terrible as it was the first year.

Hello! My name is Petra Quast and I am "very" old. I am living with my husband and my five children in a beautiful house in Barntrup. Barntrup is a little town with about 5.000 inhabitants. Since 1996 I have visited the evening school in Detmold from Monday until Friday. We are six students in our class. The lessons are sometimes very hard. My hobbies are swimming, painting, riding bicycle and my children. But I haven`t enough time for my hobbies. Before I married, I learned the job "industry businesswoman". It`s an interesting job. At the moment I can`t go to work, because I must have a look after my babies. For one year we`ve had a dog called Thea. It`s very funny with it.

Hello, My name is Ilka Yvonne Haubold. I am a 22-year-old girl from Germany. I live in a little town called Detmold. I have made an education as a hairdresser, after this I decided to visit school again. Since 1996 I have visited the evening school to get my school leaving-examination. After school I will study, perhaps I will go to a college of education, but I don`t know exactly. My hobbies are reading, swimming, meeting friends, visiting pubs and discos and listening to good music.

Hi, My name is Udo Rosemeier. I am a 31-year-old male and I live in Detmold. From 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. I work as a civil servant. From 5.45 p.m. - 9 p.m. I go to evening classes in order to pass my school-leaving examination. Sometimes, it is very hard to come here every day in the week from Monday till Friday. But now, there are only a few weeks left and our teachers do their best to stand us as we all are nervous as hell.
